The Court of Session, the High Court of Justiciary, the Sheriff Courts, the Sheriff Appeal Court and the Justice of the Peace Courts are administered by the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service.
The High Court of Justiciary and the Court of Session are collectively known as the Supreme Courts of Scotland. That name belongs to the Scottish hierarchy and is not the United Kingdom Supreme Court, which is a different body and is not described here.
The same service is also responsible for the Office of the Public Guardian, the Scottish Tribunals and the Accountant of Court.
