Corrections in Sweden are run by a single unified national body, the Prison and Probation Service (Kriminalvården). In its own words, it operates "prisons, remand prisons and a national transport service" and is "responsible for supervising people serving sentences in the community" — so prisons, remand detention, community supervision (probation) and prisoner transport are all in one authority, rather than split between separate prison and probation agencies. Because the system is national, a figure for the whole system describes the whole system.
