Politimuseet
A collection begun in 1904 in two damp cellar rooms of the Copenhagen courthouse, which became a state museum of the national police in 2013.

What it preserves
Danish police history, in a converted police station of 1883. The museum states its own origin: in 1904 politiinspektør Henrik Madsen made "to fugtige kælderrum i Domhuset" available for a criminal collection.
Its police-history scope
Danish policing. The institution reopened as Politihistorisk Museum in 1993 in the former Station 6 on Fælledvej, filled the whole building in 1998, and in 2013 an extraordinary general assembly transferred it to Rigspolitiet, making it "et egentligt etatsmuseum".
